The ML-18 energy-efficient pressure compensated load-sensing control valve from Bosch Rexroth was designed to reduce power consumption on applications such as skid steers, small wheel loaders, and material handlers. In applications requiring up to 40 gal/min (151 L/min) at 4000 psi (276 bar), the ML-18 can reduce pressure drops and hydraulic power consumption as much as 50%, according to the company. Features include a monoblock design that reduces interface restrictions between sections, tank coring for the highest flow section, and backpressure valving for forced flow regenerating. Computer modeling was used to optimize the valve's internal flow passages and to improve flow geometry while minimizing the package size. Electrohydraulic and pilot operation are available for spool modulation, offering the ML-18 control system flexibility.
