Recently at the BYD Shaoguan Industrial Park, a grand opening event was held for a new assembly line where the iron battery-powered BYD energy 3.5T electric forklift is being manufactured. First launched in 2012, the 3.5T produces no emissions and has a high change/discharge rate. It was the first of its kind. The new factory will be 100,000 m² in size and have an annual output of 20,000 electric forklifts. The forklift has formally entered the European market. BYD also produces environmentally friendly iron phosphate batteries used in its electric vehicles and busses.
