Color-Keyed Insulated Lugs from Thomas & Betts reduce installation time by eliminating the need to cover the lug with tape or with heat- or cold-shrink insulation. Translucent nylon sleeves covering the lugs improve dielectric strength and insulating properties while keeping the color-coded barrel visible. Pre-positioned on the lug, the sleeves enable the lugs to be crimped on top while ensuring that none of the cable is left exposed. The lugs are part of the first color-coded compression connector system that standardized the industry color code. They are available in one- and two-hole designs; custom options include finish, tongue width and angle, and bolt size and spacing. Constructed of seamless copper tubing with tin electroplating, these color-key lugs have a maximum temperature rating of 105°C (221°F).
