Jaguar Land Rover opens first India plant (video)

Freelanders will be delivered from Jaguar Land Rover's plant in Liverpool, U.K., to the Pune plant in complete knock-down form.

Tata Motors on May 27 celebrated the opening of its first Jaguar Land Rover plant in India. Tata Motors of Mumbai acquired Jaguar Land Rover in 2008. Workers at the plant in Pune will build the Land Rover Freelander 2 in two variants, the TD4 SE automatic and the SD4 HSE automatic, for the India market. The vehicles will be delivered from Jaguar Land Rover's plant in Liverpool, U.K., to the Pune plant in complete knock-down form.
