The HSC1 (heavy steer construction) and HDC1 (heavy drive construction) are two medium-sized radial truck tires from Continental designed for severe-duty applications including coal or waste hauling, logging, and construction. The HSC1 is a three-groove steer tire design that performs well on loose surfaces. A wider tread improves wear and impact resistance. An extra-deep drive tire for construction service, the HDC1 features a 32/32-in tread depth and open shoulder design to improve efficiency and traction. Both tires are available in sizes 11R22.5 and 11R24.5 and feature self-cleaning properties as well as the company's on/off road compounding to reduce stone retention, improve resistance to cuts and chips, and increase load capabilities. Bead construction and a four-ply belt prevent fatigue fractures and extend life.
