VW to build lab/tech center in California

Volkswagen Group of America on May 11 celebrated the groundbreaking of a new 63,000-ft² (2300-m²) facility in Oxnard, CA, for emissions testing and powertrain development. The $25 million lab/tech center replaces an existing facility in Westlake Village, CA, and will open in phases throughout 2012. Doing work for the VW, Audi, Lamborghini, Bentley, and Bugatti brands, it will house engineers from around the world, the company said. The facility will also serve as a customer support center for Bugatti dealers and customers in North and South America.
