Video: GM Powertrain’s Helfrich discusses EcoCAR 2 launch

The EcoCAR 2 competition challenges 16 universities across North America to reduce the environmental impact of a Chevrolet Malibu without compromising performance, safety, and consumer acceptability.

Following the announcement of the official launch of EcoCAR 2: Plugging in to the Future at the SAE 2011 World Congress, Kent E. Helfrich, Executive Director, Electronics Integration & Software, GM Powertrain, and Executive Lead, EcoCAR Challenge, spoke with AEI about the importance of the use of modeling tools in the three-year collegiate engineering competition.
