ECE updates regs on EV safety

The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe has beefed up it regulations on electric vehicle safety, according to global regulations compiler InterRegs. The 01 series of amendments to UN ECE Regulation 100 accounts for the most recent battery and electric vehicle technology and extends the scope of the regulation to include all vehicles equipped with an electric traction motor, including fuel-cell vehicles. Compliance becomes mandatory for new types of vehicles from Dec. 4, 2012.
