Ken Welch named VP of strategy and product management at MSC Software

Degreed engineer Ken Welch now leads strategy and product development at MSC Software.

A CAE and CAD veteran has been hired by MSC Software to head strategy and product management. Ken Welch has experience at both established companies such as Autodesk and Rockwell Corp. as well as at venture-funded startups such as Rasna Corp. and Moldflow Corp. While at Rasna, Welch led the product planning and marketing groups of the Mechanica suite of CAE products. During his tenure, Mechanica was launched and grew rapidly to $24 million in revenues before being acquired by PTC. At Moldflow, working in a number of positions, he helped the company transition from a small private firm to a $64 million public corporation that was the global leader in plastics-related CAE software systems. Welch holds bachelor and master of science degrees in civil engineering from the University of California at Davis and is a graduate of the AeA/Stanford Executive Institute.
