Lufthansa Flight Training (LFT) placed an order with Mechtronix Systems Inc., for a new Flight Simulation Training Device (FSTD) for installation at its Bremen facilities in Northern Germany. The simulator is configured as a Cessna Citation CJ1+ and represents the sixth unit acquired by the German pilot school in the past three years. Like the five other FSTDs, it will be used to train Lufthansa's cadet pilots for the initial phase of their curriculum. The unit will be ready for training in December and will be evaluated by the German aviation authorities, LBA, to obtain dual qualification JAR FSTD A FNPT II MCC and FNPT II.
