SwitchBox 684 from Curtiss-Wright Controls Embedded Computing delivers 24 Gigabit Ethernet ports and a choice of four ports of 10 GigE fiber or two ports of 10 GigE copper interfaces. The unit is based on the firm’s VPX6-684 FireBlade 6U OpenVPX card and is suited for building Intra-Platform Networks for air, land, and sea vehicles. It is housed in a rugged, low-profile enclosure that weighs 10 lb and measures 2 x 11 x 11.5 in. The system provides flexibility for distributing fully integrated systems in vehicles, with autonomous field-replaceable units that are easily configured and connected to existing subsystems. It enables reduction of development costs and time to integration.
