Markin Tubing improves its Galfan coating/epoxy topcoat application process, suited for high-pressure applications where controlled weld bead height and reliability are critical, particularly in corrosion-resistant off-road hydraulic and heavy-equipment applications. Galfan with topcoat is an alternative to polyvinyl fluoride and nylon jacketing as well as to copper and stainless tube. Produced through a proprietary process, Galfan is applied with an aluminum-rich epoxy paint topcoat to create a coating that provides over 3000 h of salt-spray protection. Available in outside diameters from 3.96 to 38 mm (0.16 to 1.5 in) and with wall thicknesses of 0.71 to 2.43 mm (0.03 to 0.10 in), Galfan is said to offer the features of jacketed, copper, or stainless tubing without the associated costs.
