Gems Sensors & Controls' FS-600 no-moving-parts flow switch is a robust switch made from stainless steel that works with both conductive and nonconductive fluids. Suitable for fluids with large particles and slurries, the solid-state sensor is immune to changes in viscosity. Thermal dispersion technology offers maintenance-free service without moving parts to jam, wear, or break in applications without filtration. The FS-600 is available in housings to suit various pipe sizes for flow rates from 0.1 to 10 gal/min (0.4 to 38 L/min). The straight-through switch is designed for a long life, can be mounted in any orientation, and can be customized with any set point based on specific customer applications.

As ground vehicles employ more electronic sensing, control and communication systems, design engineers are increasingly utilizing more commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) modules. Though COTS slashes development time and costs, it’s still difficult for many military users to find COTS boards that meet their low-volume demands for ruggedization and redundancy.
