An inclusive Universal Mounting Kit available from Electro Static Technology simplifies mounting on most AC motor shafts. In addition to mounting hardware, the kit includes the Aegis SGR bearing ring to protect variable frequency drive (VFD) motors from electrical damage. The kit contains the motor ring and four bracket styles for use in various configurations. Suitable for HVAC applications, motor repair, plant maintenance, and OEMs, the maintenance-free and long lasting Aegis ring prevents electrical fluting damage, bearing noise, motor repairs and replacements, and downtime by channeling VFD-induced bearing currents to ground. To simplify installation, the brackets may be mounted either by drilling or by using epoxy. The ring’s embedded conductive microfibers surround the motor shaft, providing millions of discharge points for shaft currents. The design diverts currents away from bearings, and the flexible microfibers prevent breakage.
