The IFH Group (Innovative Fluid Handling) uses aluminized steel on its fuel and hydraulic oil tanks for off-highway and specialty vehicles. Aluminized steel is a blend of mild sheet steel hot-dip coated on both sides with an aluminum-silicon alloy to prevent the contamination problems inherent in uncoated steels. It combines the corrosion and rust resistance of aluminum with the structural strength of steel to withstand petroleum-based and synthetic fluids while providing protection from atmospheric corrosion. Hydraulic oil tanks are custom-built to fit space and application needs on combines, heavy-terrain forklifts, earth-boring equipment, boom cranes, grounds-keeping equipment, end loaders, and hay bailers. Reservoirs range in capacities from 1 to 300 gal (3.8 to 1136 L) or more. Fuel tanks can be provided with fuel level indicators, sight gauges, straps, fittings, filters, strainers, and other necessary components.
