Amphenol Industrial offers three compact, high-amperage, restriction of hazardous substance-compliant Radsok PCB connectors for various power bus applications including assembly utilities, power-to-board and -box servers, and battery chargers for electric vehicles. Radsok technology uses a hyperbolic, stamped grid configuration to provide a large, coaxial, face-to-face surface area that maximizes heat dissipation and reduces failures. Connectors offer dependable operation and are suitable for use in high-current, single-point connections. The Radsert connector features a small footprint for flexibility and is offered in both press-fit and solder versions. PowerBlok connectors measure 12.7 x 12.7 mm (0.5 x 0.5 in) and offer a radial design with a touch-proof cover. The PGY is an orthogonal card-edge connector that delivers up to 120 A in a compact, 3.6-mm (0.14-in) housing.

As ground vehicles employ more electronic sensing, control and communication systems, design engineers are increasingly utilizing more commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) modules. Though COTS slashes development time and costs, it’s still difficult for many military users to find COTS boards that meet their low-volume demands for ruggedization and redundancy.
