Murrelektronik’s Cube67+ bus node, which is available for Profinet IO, features an integrated switch for convenient daisy chaining and offers flexibility for decentralized IO installation. The switch enables structuring of the fieldbus in linear topology with several Cube67+ bus nodes. Compared to a star topology, the linear structure offers more design options and reduces wiring efforts during installation. Up to 32 modules can be connected to a single bus node. The field bus enables installations that cover long distances, allowing cable lengths of up to 60 m (197 ft) to be implemented via two connected 30-m (98-ft) segments. The system simplifies installation for standard machine manufacturers, as its integrated machine option management requires only one type of software and documentation to be maintained. A single configuration can map the full configuration of the machine for all hardware versions.
