Red Dot has introduced a sealed, microprocessor-controlled rotary actuator for 12- and 24-V mobile HVAC applications. Designed for commercial trucks, military vehicles, and off-highway equipment used in construction, agriculture, and other demanding environments, Red Dot’s actuator is suitable for managing air-distribution doors, water valves, and other functions requiring durability and electronically controlled actuation. Microprocessor control maintains a constant torque across the operating voltage range and automatically reduces torque in a stalled condition, reducing stress on components and improving service life. The actuator is sealed to IP68 standards to resist moisture and other contaminants. Other features include diagnostic position feedback, reverse-polarity protection, operating temperature range of -40 to +185°F (-40 to +85°C), and a maximum torque of 1 lb·ft (1.36 N·m). The actuator is adjustable using linear voltage or pulse-width modulated signals and is rated for 300,000 cycles.
