NTS acquires multiskilled engineering services company

Calabasas, CA-based engineering services provider National Technical Systems Inc. (NTS) has completed the acquisition of privately held Mechtronic Solutions Inc. (MSI), an engineering services company with an extensive customer base in the aerospace and defense industries. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Based in Albuquerque, MSI has 60 employees offering mechanical, electrical, and software engineering, as well as in-house machining, electronics assembly, and full system integration. MSI’s core competency is design engineering, but it also offers prototyping, short production runs, and life-cycle support for products originally engineered by MSI. The company has performed work for the U.S. Department of Defense and the U.S. Department of Energy, as well as commercial customers. It is currently developing several airborne sensor systems for deployment on board both manned and unmanned aircraft systems. MSI will continue to operate from its facilities in Albuquerque under its current management.
