Infolytica’s MotorSolve v2.4 is the latest release of the electric motor design software for brushless dc (BLDC), induction, and switched-reluctance machines. It features several new templates, including the wound rotor induction machines template and embedded variable orientation magnets IPM (interior permanent magnet) rotor template. With MotorSolve v2.4, PWM analyses are now twice as fast in most cases, claims the company, and there are more than 20 new or improved analysis and results computations. The software also offers added-response surface model export of BLDC and induction machine (IM) motors to Simulink and VHDL-AMS format as well as support for multicore processing. In addition, many common functions, such as sin(0, sqrt(), etc., can now be applied to input parameters. MotorSolve v2.4 is available for PCs running Microsoft Windows XP, Vista, and 7.
