PREEvision is a broad-scope engineering tool from Vector for the design and optimization of software-driven electrical and electronic architectures. Suitable for working with system architectures from rough conceptualization early in development through detailed design management in production, PREEvision's complete tool environment is provided by combining and unifying data models and graphical interfaces that previously required multiple disconnected tools. It has a customizable framework for ensuring design consistency across architecture variants and for comparing variants based on key metrics such as component cost, harness weight, and bus utilization. The product provides support for requirements definition, product and option management, component design and libraries, allocation to physical components, communication network design, schematic and circuit design, wiring harness design, geometric layout, and design option trade-off analysis.
