An L circuit EMI filter from Spectrum Advanced Specialty Products produces both inductance and series resistance for improved transient performance. This feed-through solder-in filter has a miniature case size with a total length of 0.715 in. It is suited for microwave and RF applications where space is an issue but that still require high-performance EMI filtering with low insertion loss. The device provides filtering from 10 kHz to over 10 GHz, with capacitance values of 10 pF to 0.033 µF and a 10-A rating. Customized versions include a reverse seal and special lead length and end termination options. The unit can be soldered into a package, bracket, or bulkhead and can be used for applications such as attenuators, oscillators, multiplexers, synthesizers, YIG filters, and amplifiers.
