MicroPulse from InterTech Development is a solid-state device that produces small, short pulses of various gases; it is an accurate alternative to mechanical syringes. The 145 x 52 x 35-mm unit contains a miniature heat exchanger and precision temperature control that can be fitted into process control circuits without adding volume. It delivers gases up to 1.75 cm3/min at standard temperature and pressure. The required flow during the pulse period is controlled through an eight-bit digital interface via PLC or other external controller. The user can pre-set flow direction (inward or outward) and volume-flow (cm3/min) or mass-flow (standard cm3/min) pulses over a wide pressure range. Overall accuracy and repeatability of 0.1% can be achieved over extended periods of fully automatic operation.
