The Sonceboz 42XX series torque motor is a robust brushless rotary actuator designed for heavy-duty engine control applications that require extended life and are exposed to harsh environments. Features including compactness and torque density are suitable for designs requiring a small footprint and improved torque performance. Fast and accurate positioning is achieved from a mechanical, magnetic structure designed for applications such as exhaust gas recirculation, intake, exhaust, and bypass-throttle valves. A direct drive design offers robustness and reduces engine downtime. The Sonceboz torque motor family can be driven with an H-bridge typically standard in the ECU, offering system level savings compared to actuators with integrated electronics. Product enhancements include breakaway torque values that extend to 4.8 N·m (3.5 lb·ft) for 12-V systems and a position sensor that improves compactness.
