Alto Products offers Carbonite G2, a non-asbestos, organic-based friction material with impregnated carbon graphitic particles. The carbon adds lubricity and thermal stability to the material, and through Alto’s grooving techniques and processing, the friction material can be tailored in a specific performance range within its natural limits. Available in thicknesses from 0.040 to 0.072 in (1.0 to 1.8 mm), Alto Carbonite material has been used in clutch applications including automatic transmissions, slip differentials, and torque converters as well as for motorsports in the automotive industry and for transmissions and brakes in the heavy-duty on- and off-highway and motorcycle industries.
