Dolphin Integration and Infolytica have combined solutions for mixed signal and electromagnetic field simulation to perform mechatronic system simulation in industries that mix magnetic, mechanical, and electrical models. Smash, from Dolphin, can simulate response surface models of electric motors generated in VHDL-AMS by Infolytica's MagNet or MotorSolve, and it can perform a system-level simulation of both the device and the control circuitry. The multilingual Smash simulator is an all-in-one electronic design automation for hierarchical system-on-chip integration, with features for VHDL-AMS language compliance. Infolytica's MagNet and MotorSolve software generate response surface models of various motor types in VHDL-AMS. Created models are functionally equivalent to the original MagNet or MotorSolve models but can be evaluated in a transient circuit simulation. Files can be integrated into a circuit description in Smash to perform a simulation, accounting for interactions between the machine and control circuitry.
