Accelerated FEP lay-flat heat shrink from Zeus is available in diameters over 4 in (102 mm) with walls of 0.002 in (0.051 mm) and offers machine-like capability for composite release aids, fuel cells, and petroleum insulations. The thin, film-like heat shrink is suitable when nonflammable plastics are required in operating temperatures over 400°F (204°C). FEP lay-flat offers a nonstick alternative to tapes or other films in composite release aid applications. Due to flammability ratings, FEP can be used as a material replacement to lower flame rated plastics in battery packs and can be used for battery pack covers in the aerospace and other industries. Heat shrink products also are used in applications as a release agent to form composites as well as in their fabrication, offering lubricity and the ability to withstand autoclave temperatures over 350°F (177°C).
