Asahi Kasei Plastics offers Thermylene P8 compounded polypropylene (PP) resin with improved creep resistance at room temperatures and comparable creep resistance at elevated temperatures when compared to long glass-filled PP. Used on Faurecia Interior Systems' 2009 Jeep Liberty SUV inner door module, the material features proven screw/torque retention. Thermylene P8 is suitable for applications traditionally specified in long-glass PP but provide the economic benefits of short-glass PP. The polymer was formulated for improved interfacial adhesion between matrix and reinforcement and to balance impact and strength. Available in various glass levels and colors, Thermylene P8 can be used in automotive, electronics, construction, and other plastic applications that typically require long-fiber performance.
