TechSpec Mid Wave IR achromatic lenses from Edmund Optics aid designers and researchers working in the 3-5 ┬Ám spectral region. The lenses provide near diffraction-limited performance over the entire spectral range and are suited for applications in Fourier Transform IR spectroscopy, in midwave IR thermal imaging, and with tunable quantum cascade lasers. They provide significantly improved performance over comparable singlets, featuring a smaller focused spot with more energy for higher resolution images or greater signal detection. The doublets feature precision Germanium and silicon lenses, which are air-spaced and aligned within a sturdy anodized aluminum barrel. The lenses come in four 30-mm-diameter versions with 40-, 50-, 60-, and 75-mm focal lengths.
