The AX06025X series of sensors from Axiomatic can measure ±90º degrees or 360º angular rotation and features CAN open networking and a RS-232 port or three voltage outputs for communicating measurement. Designed to measure inclination angle in two orthogonal sensing directions, X and Y, the inclinometer uses a two-axis MEMS sensor that senses acceleration caused by the gravity force. Output signals are normalized and processed by a microcontroller to receive inclination angles. A microcontroller performs preprocessing of the angular information and is user-programmable for custom functionality. Applications include inclinometers; as part of a position control system for excavators and attachments; and tilt sensors, to provide out-of-level indication for lift equipment and other machines. As a tilt sensor, an out-of-range state can be transmitted as an output.
