Aviall to distribute Rolls-Royce RB211-524 unique spare parts

RB211-524G/H-T engines power Boeing 747-400 aircraft. Aviall Services signed an aftermarket distribution agreement with Rolls-Royce for unique spare parts of the RB211-524 aircraft engines.

Aviall Services Inc., a unit of Aviall Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Co., entered into an exclusive worldwide aftermarket distribution agreement with Rolls-Royce plc for unique spare parts of the RB211-524 aircraft engines. Aviall will assume these spare-part distribution responsibilities to RB211-524 customers in the fourth quarter of 2010. The agreement extends for the life of the engine. The RB211-524 engines power the Boeing 747 and 767 and Lockheed L1011. More than 190 RB211-524-powered aircraft are in service today and currently accumulate more than 2.3 million flight hours each year. Aviall will be responsible for forecasting, ordering, and delivering all OEM genuine replacement parts that are unique to RB211-524 engines and will assume responsibility for documentation management, worldwide inventory deployment, warehousing, and product distribution.
