Renishaw’s RMP40 touch probe combines compact size with frequency-hopping spread spectrum radio transmission to bring automated job setup and in-process measurement to a range of machine tools and applications. It is suited for multi-axis and mill-turn machines where line of sight between the inspection probe and its interface can become obstructed. The unit measures 40 mm in diameter and 58.3 mm in length, and it provides uni-directional probing repeatability of 1 µm. It reduces setup times, scrap, and fixture costs while improving process control.
