Low-resistance power contacts

An Environmental Claims Validated Mark (ECV) was presented to Positronic Industries by UL Environment for its VPB series size 16 power contacts; the ECV lists the average contact resistance for the devices at less than one milliohm each. This low-contact resistance is achieved via high-conductivity contact materials. Additionally, the firm’s Large Surface Area contact system is used as the interface between male and female power contacts in the connectors. The VPB series was designed for use as the Zone 1 power connector in Advanced TCA telecommunication computing systems. The low-contact resistance provides energy-saving opportunities in any application using the connector—it has a one-to-one effect on power consumption as well as voltage drop.
