The MIGfast welding contact tip provides benefits in welding productivity, quality, and tip life. Interchangeable with existing welding tips, the design allows for simple and cost-effective use of the technology. The structural geometry of the MIGfast welding contact tip is such that the wire electrode is guided through the tip onto a defined single point of contact within the copper bore, providing a stable extended stickout and hence a stable arc. In turn, the design creates a more efficient thermal fusion process, allowing for more efficient welding for both pulsed and constant voltage metal inert gas (MIG) welding processes. Benefits of the MIGfast welding contact tip include up to 50% faster welding speeds, reduced spatter, and reduced wire wastage (3-14%).
