An all-electric honing system for hydraulic actuators from Sunnen is suitable for cylinder resurfacing and repair on construction, mining, farming, and forestry equipment. The HTA actuator handles 6- and 12-ft (2- and 4-m) part lengths, with maximum outside diameters of 24 in (610 mm), and part weight up to 4000 lb (1814 kg). Features include automatic tool tensioning and programmable controller with touch screen for setting all machine parameters. A load meter determines areas of bore tightness, with capability for dwelling the tool in multiple areas to correct part geometry. The hone is suitable where light-duty stock removal up to 0.03 in (0.76 mm) is needed to oversize deeply scratched actuator bores. An electronically controlled, 3-hp (2.24-kW) gear motor powers the spindle at 0-300 rpm.
