Shinhan Precision’s fine blanking press technology is used to create a clutch piston for Magna Powertrain that replaces its current powder metal component. This process will result in a cost savings as well as lower levels of pollution, claims the company. The part is used in three New Process Gear active transfer cases for light truck and sport utility vehicle applications, with a gross vehicle weight of up to 7500 lb (3400 kg) and 1500 N·m (1106 lb·ft) clutch capacity.
