PREEvision from Aquintos is a CASE tool for the model-based development and evaluation of electrical/electronic architectures in motor vehicles or any kind of technical system equipped with distributed networked embedded systems. It supports draft processes in requirement engineering, functionality development, network and component architecture, electrical system and wiring harness development, and topology layouts. The tool covers both the needs for concept phases as well as design phase projects. As an authoring and design tool, it supports large engineering teams in the detailed development as well as in the system specification. The system is customizable to classify and correct granular errors and patterns in the architecture. A built-in report generator allows engineers to export features and functions directly from the design tool. This ability saves many hours that would typically be needed to integrate other tools.
