Intermap, Hella partner on predictive front lighting

These 2-D and 3-D visuals of the digital elevation model Intermap is developing will enable the company to build the road vectors to support ADASEM (advanced driver assistance systems and energy management) applications for the automotive industry.

Intermap Technologies and Hella KGaA Hueck & Co. have agreed to collaborate on a predictive front lighting system that directs the headlamp before the driver steers the vehicle into a bend or up or down a slope. The system is an integration of Intermap's high-resolution 3-D road maps, information supplied by camera systems in an automobile, and Hella's front lighting demonstration system. Denver-based Intermap has developed what it calls the world’s only database encompassing accurate 3-D road geometry for every road in the U.S. and Western Europe.
