To prevent deaths, injury, and repairs from accidents occurring when snowmobilers fail to detect when sleds in front are decreasing speed, Powersport Innovations introduces Safe Ride. The system uses a bright-red LED strobe light to warn followers when a sled is decelerating from throttle reduction and engine braking. Safe Ride operates on g-force reduction and is not dependent on mechanical connections. The technology activates seconds before the brake lights go on, working with any reduction of speed as well as when the brakes are applied. As a snowmobile throttles down or decelerates, the g-force sensing module provides power to the LED. When engaged, the red LED strobes, gaining surrounding snowmobilers' full attention and helping them take timely corrective action to avoid collisions. Safe Ride is water-, shock-, and vibration-proof and draws 170 mA of power with an LED that lasts up to 100,000 h.
