ArmorGalv technology from Distek is an environmentally friendly process that offers enhanced corrosion protection and wear resistance as well as anti-galling properties. The process is an improved version of the established Sheardizing zinc/iron vapor diffusion process. It coats and penetrates the surface of any steel part, including wrought and/or forged steel, castings, powdered metal, and all grades of stainless steel, to become integrated with the part. The material is highly corrosion- and abrasion-resistant; controllable and precise (with thicknesses from 0.0003 in to 6 mils); weldable and spark-free; and provides heat resistance to 1200°F. It provides a good base for paint, powder coating, and rubber bonding.
