Yasda Precision America’s YMC430 micro center is equipped with newly developed linear ball guide ways and a larger table working surface. The machine offers the same robust construction, linear motor drive for all axes, and other features as the company’s YMC325, but it is better in accuracy. For highest surface quality and precision, the YMC430’s linear guide way consists of eight rows of small balls and a longer bearing case than a conventional linear ball guide way. More contact creates improved stiffness for damping and straightness capabilities. Allowing for large workpiece capacities, the YMC430 travels are 400(X) mm x 300(Y) mm x 250(Z) mm [15.7(X) in x 11.8(Y) in x 9.8(Z) in], table size is 450 x 350 mm (17.7 x 13.8 in), and table loading capacity is 100 kg (220 lb). As with the YMC325, the YMC430’s nonphysical contact and high servo response drive eliminate backlash and ensure long-term operation.

Boeing and Airbus forecast a worldwide demand for up to 40,000 new aircraft over the next two decades. With a 10-year production backlog and new aircrafts increasingly counting on lightweight composites, manufacturing companies are developing advanced sandwich-structure composite solutions to fill the production gap.
