The B3293 series of MKT film capacitors from Epcos features very low capacitance drift. After a 1000-h test at 85°C (185°F), 85% relative air humidity, and 240 V ac, the device's maximum capacitance change is less than 10%, says the company. With a maximum operating temperature of 105°C (221°F), the series covers a capacitance range from 0.1 to 10 µF. The capacitors are designed for a nominal voltage of 305 V ac according to IEC 60384-14. Possible applications for the capacitors are those that make very high demands on reliability, such as in automotive electronics, or those in which an uncontrolled change in capacitance can lead to malfunction of the circuit.
