Small-diameter ballscrew assemblies from Nook Industries are designed for smaller-footprint applications including robots, unmanned vehicles, and guided missiles. Converting rotary motion to linear motion, the units feature a load capacity of 40 to 100 lb, diameter of 6 to 12 mm, and standard leads from 1 to 3 mm. Lead accuracy is ±100 µm/300 mm for standard rolled and ±25 µm/300 mm for precision rolled. The devices are typically powered by a motor that generates torque as the rotating screw pushes the nut along the screw shaft, producing linear thrust. They are often used with linear slides or as part of a linear actuator to move parts and devices along a single axis. Materials include alloy, stainless, aluminum, titanium, and other exotic metals.
