MTC Transformers has formed a subsidary, Evatran LLC, to provide plugless charging of electric vehicles and partial-electric vehicles. Plugless Power is the name of the company's inductive charging system. The company says a recent consumer research study revealed that a majority of potential electric car customers were most worried about the inconvenience of recharging. "We aim to use over a century of combined experience in engineering and designing custom transformer solutions to help build the infrastructure to make electric vehicles viable," said Tom Hough, CEO of MTC Transformers and co-founder of Evatran.
