PC-DMIS Reshaper from Hexagon Metrology is a stand-alone 3-D point-cloud processing software for reverse engineering and inspection said to improve product development, rapid prototyping, and reverse engineering. The program can be used to collect or import large quantities of 3-D point data for manipulation and processing for downstream processes such as CAD, CAM, or rapid prototyping. Data collection can be accomplished live via direct connection to a digitizing device, such as a portable measuring arm with a laser scanner, or offline via file import from multiple 3-D data file formats. Point clouds can be imported without limitations and can be cleaned, merged, and edited from the user interface and then converted into a polygon mesh model. Further manipulation, including hole filling, deformation, and smoothing, is capable by point and click.
