The U.S. Army Contracting Command in Picatinny Arsenal, NJ, has awarded General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products a contract for $37 million to produce reactive armor tile sets that fasten to the exterior of the Bradley Fighting Vehicle, allowing it to better withstand a direct hit from a variety of anti-armor munitions. Deliveries are due to begin in December and are expected to be completed in early 2010. Work will be performed at General Dynamics’ facility in McHenry, MS. As a strategic partner, RAFAEL Armament Development Authority Ltd., Ordnance Systems Division, will share the production workload in Haifa, Israel.
