3M dual-lock reclosable fasteners feature high-strength adhesive. The fasteners use 3M high-bond tape technology for adhering on contact to high surface energy (HSE) and most low surface energy (LSE) plastics, metals, powder-coated surfaces, and more without surface priming or abrading. The fasteners provide attachment for indoor and outdoor applications as well as in high heat and humidity. Designed with hundreds of mushroom-shaped stems that interlock when pressed together, the new fasteners provide enough strength to replace traditional mechanical fasteners in many applications. The fasteners can be readily opened and closed, and the parts can be attached and detached for hundreds of closures. The company’s reclosable fasteners are suitable for decorative trim in specialty vehicle interiors, application to floors and ceilings of trains, and other commercial vehicles.
