The TrueTILT dual-axis, wide-angle electrolytic tilt sensor from the Fredericks Co. has been redesigned and now offers a reduced unit price. The sensor is available in two different angle and linear ranges. The first unit, #0717-4318-99, is available in +60° angle/+25° linear; the second unit, #0717-4319-99, offers +50° angle/+20° linear. Other features include a robust, all-metal construction that provides durability as well as improved dimensional tolerances for sensor-to-sensor electrical performance.

As ground vehicles employ more electronic sensing, control and communication systems, design engineers are increasingly utilizing more commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) modules. Though COTS slashes development time and costs, it’s still difficult for many military users to find COTS boards that meet their low-volume demands for ruggedization and redundancy.
