The Southco R4-EM electronic rotary latch integrates electronic access convenience with secure rotary latch performance. Lacking a separate solenoid actuator, the gear-motor drive in the R4-EM offers improved efficiency and higher load capability for a range of applications including storage compartments on truck, bus, off-highway, construction, and agricultural vehicles and industrial equipment as well as RV baggage doors. The integrated latch also features a compact design of 2.56 x 2.72 x 0.75 in (65 x 69 x 19 mm), improved installation and operation, minimal protrusion inside the compartment, and an all-metal construction for vandal resistance and durability. The latch operates on 12- to 24-V dc and accepts various electronic actuation signals.
