Hess Industries works with commercial diesel engine and exhaust aftertreatment device manufacturers on developing canning solutions to meet 2010 emissions requirements. Process and technology development has included partnering in product development and prototype production as well as securing contracts for manufacturing complete process lines. Along with the traditional converter manufacturing methods, such as substrate gauging, shell sizing, and assembly, Hess has developed several new products a­nd processes specifically suited for diesel DOC, DOP, and selective catalytic reduction assembly. One such device is a rotary sizer designed to optimally secure multiple substrate assemblies.
